8. Delineating A Mystery Chart: Round 1

Welcome to Ep 8! Today we have a special guest, Saffron Dennis from Divine BayTree is joining the show to provide Joli & Aswin with a mystery chart to delineate in real time.
The idea is to showcase how we might use different techniques to parse a natal chart and understand the native's life. Today we will be looking at this chart from a Tropical Hellenistic & Traditional lens. In Round 2 later this month, we will return to this chart and look at it through the lens of Sidereal Jyotish before Saffron finally reveals just who the chart belongs to and how close we get to the actual life through our delineations.

5. Client Chart Prep From A Technical Perspective

Joli and Aswin continue their discussion on client chart prep and what techniques they like to use--and when and why they use what! We talk about consultation charts--what are they and how do we use them? How much detail do we need about the client and the client's life before the session? Is the client supposed to tell us what they need or are astrologer's supposed to divine this? Is there always a pressing need on the client's side? How long should sessions be? Tune in to hear thoughts and conversation on these questions and more.

4. Setting the Space for Client Sessions

What are the steps for preparing for a client session? What is the process leading up to the booking in of a client consultation and then preparing for it? Join Joli and Aswin as they discuss the different ways they approach this part of an astrologer's practice and their reasoning behind their choices. This is the first half of a conversation around client/chart prep that leads into a discussion on technical prep that will be featured in Episode 5.

What does cross-cultural astrology mean? And why might delving into this be of value or benefit to any astrologer? What do we mean when we talk about traditions versus schools of astrology? Smell is the only one of our 5 senses that is not routed through the thalamus to get to the cortex. Instead, aromas and odours travel directly to the olfactory nerve, thus bypassing the thalamus altogether. The information from smell is thus relayed to the limbic system and is why certain smells can trigger detailed memories and strong emotions.
 
In this episode, Joli mistakenly says "hypothalamus" instead of "thalamus". The latter retrieves sensory information for the cortex, while the former is responsible for homeostasis in the body and for stimulating hormone production. Please accept her regret for the error!
